Nominations will be accepted until November 17, then voting will begin on November 21. Nominate candidates from your firm now.

Upcoming Consumer Constituent Group Activities
At the September 25 meeting at WFIC in Barcelona, the group identified two new activities:
  - Workshops are planned in NYC and London on organizational and management issues like organization structure, workflow, tools, employee recruitment, and development.
  - FISD will schedule an ad hoc meeting to address issues related to Credit Ratings

Consumer members should let Tom Davin know if they are interested in participating in either of these activities.

Certification Program.png

FISD is pleased to announce the newest addition to the FISD Professional Certification program, the Data Licensing Module. This Level 2 exam focuses on a set of issues that cause a great deal of friction within our industry.

To help you defeat the data licensing dragon, FISD has created a certification that will arm you with essential knowledge on this difficult topic. The FISD Data Licensing Module syllabus will guide your preparation for a rigorous exam that covers:

  • Firms that participate in the licensed data life cycle
  • Various types of licensable data
  • Governance
  • Licensing terms
  • Compliance
  • Audits

FISD can’t solve all of your data licensing problems for you, but the FISD Data Licensing Module can equip you to solve these problems for yourself.

FISD Dues Scale to Increase by 5% on January 1, 2018
In June 2017, the Board of SIIA (FISD’s parent organization) approved an across-the-board 5% increase in the SIIA dues scale.  This dues increase is the first in approximately 20 years and will affect FISD members with membership terms ending December 31, 2017 and later.  After consultation with the member leadership of the SIIA’s divisions (including the FISD Executive Committee), the SIIA Board undertook these changes as part of a comprehensive package of expense cuts and revenue increases that will provide for the continued financial health of the SIIA and its divisions.  The revised dues scale can be viewed here.  FISD asks that you consider these changes as you plan your budgets for 2018 and beyond.  While price increases are never popular, FISD management believes that this increase will enable FISD to maintain and increase its level of support for its members in an increasingly expensive environment.   If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this, please contacts Tracey Shumpert.

FISD Tokyo

This FISD event will be hosted by FINOLAB, the Tokyo Fintech incubator.  FINOLAB is home to development teams from a number of national consumer institutions.  We will discuss how Fintech firms will interact with Consumer institutions and vendors to exchange information: market data, customer details, etc. The other topic for the event will be the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB).  We will discuss the outstanding data requirements that Consumers need to address for compliance, where institutions intend to get this data and the vendor perspective on the required data set for FRTB.
