FISD Launches Data Provider Evaluation Pilot – Volunteers Needed
Would you like to see how your downstream clients and distribution partners truly feel about the quality of service that you provide?  The FISD Service Level and Communications Working Group is seeking volunteers among exchanges, traditional data vendors and other data providers to participate in an evaluation program and receive confidential feedback regarding their communication and product management practices in support of their market data products.  This pilot program is an enhancement of the Working Group’s annual award program and is designed to serve a broader group of member data providers with more comprehensive and valuable feedback. Members of the Working Group have created a short survey that provides confidential feedback on the pertinent aspects of communication and service addressed in the Best Practices document.  FISD Staff will compile information submitted by SL&C Working Group member firms for each Data Provider.  The submitted feedback and comments remain private for each participating Data Provider.
Individuals interested in this program or seeking additional information should contact FISD’s Nick Merritt at (202 789-4441).

Rising Stars London *New Location*
We hope you saw our previous announcements for the upcoming Rising Stars event on September 20 in London. The location has just changed, so we’ll now be at Colt at 20 Great Eastern Street. The fun and funky space known as The Hub will be a great spot to network and enjoy the panel about attaining a senior level role. Space is limited, so if you’d like to attend you should register now. Questions? Contact Hope Wilkes for more information.

Seeking Exchanges to Discuss Audit & Compliance Implications of GDPR – The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.  GDPR has affected FISD members in many ways but recently the Consumer Constituent Group began discussions on the specific impact of GDPR on market data administration and compliance.  The group noted the potential impact of GDPR on activities like audits, reporting, and invoicing.  CCG members would like to brainstorm with other constituencies on their concerns and possible solutions that would reduce the exposure for all parties.  Exchange representatives should contact Tom Davin if they would be interested in joining a discussion group on this issue.

September 5: FISD Reads to Discuss Powerful
There’s still time to get through Powerful: Building a Culture of Freedom and Responsibility by Patty McCord before the FISD Reads LinkedIn discussion on September 5. This slim volume by a co-creator of the Netflix culture deck is essential reading for anybody who manages a team. Join the FISD Reads LinkedIn group where we’ll share what we learned from the book. Not available to participate in the conversation on September 5? Join the group anyway so you don’t miss out on our next quarterly pick. The goal of FISD Reads is to help you gain insights from some of the world’s best leaders that you can apply in your professional life, so you can expect more leadership-centric titles. Contact Hope Wilkes for more information.
