WFIC Sponsor Returns for 2019

WFIC 2019

FISD is pleased to announce that Deutsche Börse Group has returned as Platinum Sponsor for WFIC 2019, and delegates will enjoy another of their truly memorable Tuesday evening parties. WFIC will take place in Vancouver, BC, October 13-16, 2019. Once again, a magical mix of senior representatives from end user firms, content creators and service providers from around the globe will convene to create the best networking opportunity in the financial information business.

WFIC Sponsorship Information
Sponsorship for WFIC typically sell out well in advance of the event date and we expect this to be especially true this cycle, as exhibitor inventory is limited. In addition, 2017 sponsors receive first priority to renew their options until September 30th. For this reason, we suggest past sponsors to contact FISD now to reserve their packages, and for potential new sponsors to indicate their interests so that we can prioritize them.

One special note: for the first time in WFIC history, the Market Data Cup Tournament is available for exclusive sponsorship!

Please contact Tracey Shumpert if you have any questions or wish to sponsor WFIC 2019.

Every year the Asia Pacific Financial Information Conference (“APFIC”) seeks to bring the best financial information event content and networking opportunities to the region. For 2018, we’re especially excited to present a program focused on the trends that are affecting businesses in APAC and beyond.

Topics covered will include:

  • The technology of next generation banking
  • Trends in cloud computing
  • Data quality
  • Innovation vs Security
  • Alternative Data
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Corporate actions
  • And much, much more

This year’s event anticipates 400 attendees and will take place November 12-14 at various locations around the city of Hong Kong, anchored by a full day of program and exhibits at the Ritz Carlton. FISD and its partners at InfoPro (Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data) are planning a conference with greater networking opportunities and a more interactive agenda. If you’d like information about sponsoring APFIC, please contact Tracey Shumpert or David Anderson.

FISD Launches Data Provider Evaluation Pilot – Volunteers Needed
Would you like to see how your downstream clients and distribution partners truly feel about the quality of service that you provide?  The FISD Service Level and Communications Working Group is seeking volunteers among exchanges, traditional data vendors and other data providers to participate in an evaluation program and receive confidential feedback regarding their communication and product management practices in support of their market data products.  This pilot program is an enhancement of the Working Group’s annual award program and is designed to serve a broader group of member data providers with more comprehensive and valuable feedback. Members of the Working Group have created a short survey that provides confidential feedback on the pertinent aspects of communication and service addressed in the Best Practices document.  FISD Staff will compile information submitted by SL&C Working Group member firms for each Data Provider.  The submitted feedback and comments remain private for each participating Data Provider.
Individuals interested in this program or seeking additional information should contact FISD’s Nick Merritt at (202 789-4441).

GDPR and Market Data Compliance: Seeking Exchanges for Discussion
Implications of GDPR – The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.  GDPR has affected FISD members in many ways but recently the Consumer Constituent Group began discussions on the specific impact of GDPR on market data administration and compliance.  The group noted the potential impact of GDPR on activities like audits, reporting, and invoicing.  CCG members would like to brainstorm with other constituencies on their concerns and possible solutions that would reduce the exposure for all parties.  Exchange representatives should contact Tom Davin if they would be interested in joining a discussion group on this issue.
