FISD’s Year in Review is an annual synopsis of member activities. Normally the highlight of the publication is the many photos of members at FISD events around the world. Though the pandemic impacted our ability to gather together in person, your friends and colleagues, and we at FISD too, would love to see what you’ve been up to this year and include your photos in the Year in Review. By Friday, January 15 please send us your selfies on any of the following themes:
You at your workstation
You with your furry co-workers
Family shots of you and your loved ones
You in your mask
Something fun that you’d like to share
All photos must be summited in Hi-Resolution (at least 300 pixels per inch). Photos taken with any modern camera phone or laptop camera are acceptable. Remember to use proper lighting & exposure, without any overly harsh or soft light, shadows, or reflections. Please send all photos to Tracey Shumpert by Friday January 15!
Voting is currently open to fill 12 positions on the FISD Executive Committee (EC) for two-year terms, which begin in January 2021. Positions are open for representatives in each of the three FISD constituency areas: exchanges, vendors (data, software, hardware, services), and consumer firms. All main member contacts should have received a voting ballot via SurveyMonkey. Voting will close on January 15th. Please contact Tracey Shumpert if you have any questions.
WFIC Loyalty Program Established
We hope you are planning to join FISD at the next World Financial Information Conference, currently slated for Spring 2022 in Europe. While we expect to announce the exact date and location for WFIC in the near future, we wanted to introduce a loyalty program tailored to the new challenges that members are facing.
We recognize that uncertainties due to the pandemic may cause members to delay in registering for WFIC and making travel-related commitments, and thus the popular early-bird registration discount may be of limited value. Similarly, the traditional Consumer Travel Stipend Program has typically been limited to approximately the first 70 consumer delegates who registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, we will be recognizing long-term members’ loyalty to FISD by offering them a discounted admission rate or, in the case of our consumer members, a travel stipend - right up until the start of WFIC. Click here to read more on the WFIC Loyalty Program and the important deadlines coming up! Please contact Tracey Shumpert if there are any questions.
FISD Professional Certification Update
Changes are coming to the FISD Professional Certification program in 2021. The popular FISD FIA + Learning Modules eTraining bundle special priced at $425 (normally $905) is leaving our online store (account required to view) on December 31, 2020. If you purchase by the end of the year, you’ll lock in the special price and may take the exam through June 30, 2021.
What’s next? FISD is making way for new exams in 2021. Coming soon: a Level 2 exam to help support your mastery of market data technology. We look forward to launching a revised FISD FIA syllabus in Q1. Contact Hope Wilkes with questions or help with registration.
