Exec Committee to Review Preliminary Findings of Strategic Planning Process
At its quarterly meeting on June 21, the FISD Executive Committee will begin reviewing and discussing the findings from the strategic planning practice that was undertaken by the Governance & Operations Advisory Committee (GOAC), a sub-group of the FISD Executive Committee. The GOAC has focused on possible long-term changes to the industry, FISD’s strengths and weaknesses, and opportunities to better serve its membership. While this activity is limited to Executive Committee members, input is welcome from all FISD members. Contact Tom Davin for details.
Move on up at the NYC Women’s Group on June 19th
Join us at Carmine’s in midtown on June 19th for a family-style Italian luncheon, valuable networking, and an interactive presentation on moving up the corporate ladder. We send special thanks to MDSL for sponsoring the luncheon. Please contact Tracey Shumpert with any questions about this event.
Go Sci-Fi at Learning & Libations in NYC on July 18th
Occasionally we unearth a topic that is just as fun as it is educational, so we’re especially delighted to welcome Virtual Cove’s presentation on the universe of immersive data visualization. Attendees will get to experience augmented reality goggles. Please contact Tracey Shumpert with any questions about this event.
FISD Launches Women’s Speaker BureauMember firms have increasingly requested to see greater gender equity on event programs. In response, FISD is developing a Women’s Speaker Bureau to have a deeper understanding of the available speaker pool. Women who would like to volunteer to speak should send their name, title, company name, contact information, preferred locations for speaking and tags for the topics they are able to cover (e.g. data management, MiFID II, cost savings, vendor management) to Tracey Shumpert. FISD will use this information to issue speaker invitations. Please feel free to spread the word to your colleagues and clients for their contributions as well. Contact
Tracey Shumpert with any questions.
