All FISD members are invited to nominate candidates to fill 12 positions on the FISD Executive Committee (EC) for two-year terms which begin in January 2021. Positions are open for representatives in each of the three FISD constituency areas: exchanges, vendors (data, software, hardware, services), and consumer firms. View the current EC list.
Please submit one nomination for your company with the campaign statements for both executives who will be representing your firm. Nominations will be accepted until November 30, then voting will begin on December 2. Please contact Tracey Shumpert if you have any questions.
Cloud offers a great opportunity for FISD member firms, but at the same time it is vastly different to the way market data has been distributed for many years. This issue has been discussed by at least one constituency group meeting this quarter - the question of taxation in respect of location was raised. Prompted by that discussion FISD will create a working group to explore, discuss and share - experiences, problems and of course solutions. The precise focus and range of topics are still being considered. This group should have appeal to both commercial and engineering staff. Watch out for more announcements and if you have any interest in and/or ideas for this new working group please contact David Anderson.
New FISD Alternative Data Publication Announced
The FISD Alternative Data Council is excited to announce the publication of the Trial Data License and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement. Over 30 buyside firms and data vendors have come together to agree on a voluntary template for use by the industry for the evaluation of alternative data sets. Data buyers and vendors alike have been looking forward to this release as it will speed up the data buying process, saving time and money for both the buyside and data vendors. Have a look! Please contact Tracey Shumpert if you'd like to join the Council's efforts.
